We have an exciting day planned to celebrate the inspirational and unprecedented contributions of women. During World War II nearly 350,000 women on the home front and in support of the battlefield abroad paved the way for women to enter all areas of the workforce and the military we see today. Doors open at 10:00 am and guests are invited to visit displays and exhibits all day throughout the museum and enjoy presentations by living historians and museum staff.
Special Guests-
Meet Dot Trate, “Rosie the Riveter” and learn about her 101 years of life experience.
Vetti Thomas will share stories about her time in the Army Nurse Corps during World War II.
Learn more about the Homefront efforts with Pat Lowin and Joyce Groff.
Living Historians and displays include:
Girl Scouts, American Red Cross Donut Dollies, Women’s Army Air Corps, Women Airforce Service Pilots, Homefront, Women’s Land Army, Destination Gettysburg, and the Gettysburg Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
