🇺🇸 We are honored to have showcased a small part of our WWII vehicle collection in the Army’s 250th Birthday Parade in Washington, D.C. These vehicles — and the men and women who operated them — were critical to victory in WWII.

It was a privilege to honor our military, all while sharing these vehicles with crowds in D.C. and hundreds of thousands spectators at home. As always, thank you to all who have served and currently serve. The last parade these vehicles were in was our Memorial Day parade, where we had the privilege of escorting 3 WWII veterans. 🫡

Thank you to York Excavating Co LLC for transporting these vehicles safely and securely. A special thank you to our staff and volunteers who preserve these vehicles with passion — this passion helps bring our history to you. 🇺🇸

🎉There's always something new at the Museum! 🎉

Check out these pics from our President Truman Exhibit Unveiling from May 8, Truman's 141st Birthday. Truman assumed the presidency on April 12, 1945, following the death of President Roosevelt. Truman would go on to tell the press, "I felt like the moon, the stars, and the planets had fallen on me," and encouraged the country to pray for him.

Truman saw the US through Victory Over Japan and the end of WWII. Following the war, Truman would lead the country in the early Cold War and the early Korean War, as well as events such as the Berlin Air Lift.

While Truman was a native of the Show-Me State, this wax figure is a Gettysburg local: he spent decades in the Gettysburg Hall of Presidents Museum, which means he is no longer a transplant or tourist. 😉

This exhibit was made possible by Pete Monahan, the Chairman of our Board of Directors, as well as our volunteers who work tirelessly to bring Our History to you. Lastly, a special thank you to volunteers Rick, Bob, Kevin, and Drusilla for your dedication to supporting our history and mission. 🇺🇸
