The Seminar Series, “Comparisons Across 2 ½ Centuries,” explores connections between America’s 250th anniversary, Gettysburg’s role as the site of the largest battle ever fought on American soil, and the broader American experience in World War II. Co-sponsored by the Dwight D. Eisenhower Chapter of the Battle of the Bulge Association and the WWII American Experience, the series examines leadership, strategy, innovation, regional contributions, and turning points across the Revolutionary War, the Civil War, and World War II.

Presented by Leon Reed, each program offers a focused comparison that highlights how events and individuals across more than two centuries of conflict shaped the nation’s history.

All seminars are held at the World War II American Experience Museum on Crooked Creek Road. Programs begin at 10:00 a.m. unless otherwise noted.

Presenters Leon Reed and John Baker uncover the hidden World War II history of South Central Pennsylvania, focusing on POW camps, espionage activity, and intelligence training sites. Featured locations include Fort Ritchie, Camp Sharpe, Pine Grove Furnace, Catoctin Mountain Park, and Letterkenny.
